Bio

I am a senior lecturer in Scientific Computing at the department of Information Technology, Division of Scientific Computing, Uppsala University. In 2014, I was appointed Docent in Scientific Computing by the Faculty of Science and Technology, Uppsala University. My current research centers around Computational Systems Biology and eScience, in particular Applied Cloud Computing. I am passionate about computational science and engineering (CSE) software, and participate in large OpenSource projects that aim at making computational experimentation convenient for domain scientists.

Before joining Uppsala University, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher in the Petzold lab at University of California, Santa Barbara.

I obtained my PhD degree in Scientific Computing from Uppsala University in 2011. My thesis Multiscale Stochastic Simulation of Reaction-Transport Processes: Applications in Molecular Systems Biology was awarded the Bjurzons premium for outstanding thesis from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Uppsala University.

My MSc degree, which was awarded in 2006 from Uppsala University, is in Molecular Biotechnology Engineering , hence my interest in modeling and simulating biological systems.
